Messy Church and Messy Church Sports Club

Messy Church logo

Messy Church takes place on the second Sunday of every month from 3.30-5.30pm in St Peter’s Church and the Millennium Room (adjoining the church).

Messy Church was set up as a fun way for families to do church together. With values based on creativity, hospitality and celebration, Messy Church is an opportunity to enjoy learning about Christ through crafts, stories, games and worship.

Timing and activities

We meet in church at 3.30pm. The afternoon will always begin with crafts and activities based around a different theme. On selected dates (weather permitting), we also run a Messy Church Sports Club for those children who prefer running around to crafts on the Glebe Meadow. At around 4.45pm, we all come together for a short time of worship or a story or song in church before sitting down to enjoy a meal together in the Gresham Chapel.

Who is it for?

Messy Church is for all ages from 3+ (although little ones are very welcome to come along with parents). You don’t need to be a regular church goer, or know much about church to attend. All you need to do is come and enjoy yourself.

We ask for a small donation of £3 per family from those who are able.

If you would like more details, or would like to join the Messy Church email list for regular updates, please contact our Church Coordinator, Caroline:

We look forward to meeting your family.
