Infant Baptisms

Font decorated for Easter

If you are considering bringing your child up in the Christian faith, you may wish to have your child baptised (also referred to as “christened”). Baptism marks the start of a journey of faith, which involves turning away from all that is evil, turning towards Christ and becoming a member of the local and worldwide Christian family.

Wherever possible baptisms take place within the main worship services on a Sunday morning. If, due to special circumstances this is not possible a private baptism service may be offered, usually at 12 noon on Sundays.

If you wish to enquire about Baptism for your child, please call the Parish Office to arrange an initial visit with the Rector.

We normally ask that you attend at least one Sunday morning service before the baptism and of course hope that you will want to continue to be involved in the life of St Peter’s.

Please note that there is no fee payable for the service. You may wish to make a voluntary donation towards the mission of the church, although there is no obligation to do so.
